La mia prima apparizione su YouTube

Con questo video-selfie, compaio "ufficialmente" per la prima volta di persona nel mio canale YouTube. A dire il vero, trovate già un'intervista, realizzata il 18 Agosto 2017 dall'emittente modenese TRC, ma ora inauguro una serie di filmati, dedicati soprattutto agli argomenti delle mie pubblicazioni sul web, e non mancherà occasione per spaziare oltre.
Trattandosi di un video sperimentale di presentazione, ho parlato liberamente, raggiungendo la mezz'ora di durata, ma dalla prossima volta non supererò il limite di 10 minuti.
Grazie di cuore a tutti gli spettatori, "vecchi" e nuovi.

My first appearance on YouTube

 Through this selfie-video, I "officially" take my person into my YouTube channel. Actually you will already find an interview made on August 18th, 2017 by local tv TRC in Modena, but from now on I'm starting up a series of videos that will especially talk about the subject of my web publications, then I will take time for speaking about more matters.
Due to the experimental purpose of this video I talked freely for almost half an hour, but from next issue I won't exceed the 10 minute deadline.

PROGETTO "IMOLA" in scala 1:10 - Prime immagini

La "IMOLA" è oltre il semplice prototipo, perché rappresenta una mia idea personale per una svolta nell'identità industriale di Alfa Romeo, nel contesto dei cambiamenti  profondi che stiamo vivendo.
Una breve introduzione a questi concetti è visibile nei post precedenti sull'argomento, oltre che nel video pubblicato su YouTube.
Grazie all'aiuto di due preziosi Fornitori, ora il progetto è più concreto, ed appare sotto forma di prototipo in scala 1:10, realizzato con le tecnologie di stampa 3D.

"IMOLA" Project in 1:10th scale - First pictures

The "IMOLA"  concept car is beyond the simple prototype, because it represents my personal suggestion for a turning point in the industrial identity of Alfa Romeo brand, across the flow of deep changes we are passing through.
A brief introduction to this project can be read in the previous posts about this, as well as on YouTube video.
Thanks to the help by two precious Suppliers, now the project is getting more "real", as it looks through the shapes of a 1:10th scale prototype, made with additive manufacturing.

Niki Lauda è uno di quei campioni dello sport conosciuti non solo agli appassionati, ma divenuto parte della cultura popolare. Durante la mia infanzia, ho avuto il privilegio di assistere alle sue gesta, e mi sento in dovere di scrivere un omaggio alla sua memoria.

ALFA ROMEO "IMOLA" - Render 3D

La presentazione del mio progetto "IMOLA" si arricchisce ora di 12 render, che illustrano la vettura da varie angolazioni e in modo più dettagliato.

Si tratta di un'automobile dalle elevati doti dinamiche, adatta in particolare all'impiego su pista.
La ricerca stilistica è limitata all'insieme delle prese d'aria anteriori, modellate secondo la personalità Alfa Romeo, e nei fari tondi di coda, omaggio alla "33 Stradale" del 1967.

 
Tutto il resto è pura ricerca aerodinamica, con riferimento ai canoni di progettazione dei prototipi da Endurance e alle nuove frontiere esplorate da Ford attraverso il modello "GT". Gli obiettivi del mio studio sono i seguenti:
1) riduzione al minimo della resistenza frontale e delle turbolenze attorno e in coda al veicolo;
2) riduzione al minimo delle superfici e dei flussi d'aria che potrebbero generare un comportamento portante della scocca;
3) carico deportante ottenuto con superfici alari visibili e nascoste, coadiuvate dal fondo piatto e dai profili estrattori sul retro.

L'abbinamento con tecnologie di propulsione sostenibili e a ridotto impatto ambientale potrebbe trasformare la "IMOLA" in un laboratorio di ricerca per ottenere prestazioni estreme, con elevato rendimento energetico.

ALFA ROMEO "IMOLA" - 3D Renderings

The introduction to my "IMOLA" project now features 12 3D photo-renderings, to show the car in a deeper way from different points of view.
The concept is about a high-performance car, especially conceived for driving on racetracks.
The styling research is only about the front air intakes, the lines of which fit Alfa Romeo's personality, and the round lights in the tail, as a tribute to 1967 "33 Stradale".

Everything else is pure research in aerodynamics, with references to Endurance prototypes and the new frontiers achieved by Ford through "GT" model. The following topics are the main purposes of my study:
1) minimizing of front impact and turbulences around and behind the vehicle;
2) minimizing of surfaces and air flows that might generate lift forces;
3) generation of downforce through visible and hidden surfaces, along with flat undercover and rear diffusers.

The use of powertrain solutions with sustainable technology with low environmental impact might turn "IMOLA" into an experimental laboratory for extreme driving performance with high energy efficiency.

ALFA ROMEO "IMOLA" - Prototipo in scala 1:18 stampato in 3D

Dopo i bozzetti pubblicati nel post di qualche tempo fa (per vederlo, cliccate QUI), l'idea dell'Alfa Romeo Imola è ora finalmente più "concreta", grazie a questo piccolo prototipo creato con le stampanti 3d della mia fabbrica... domestica.
Mi sono concesso un sogno ad occhi aperti, immaginando di poterla finalmente guidare.

After the first sketches that's been published some time ago (please click HERE to read the post), the  Alfa Romeo Imola has become more "concrete" at last, thanks to my small "home factory" that made this little prototype with 3d printers.
I also wanted to fall into a daydream, figuring out what it feels like to be on board.

LA MACCHINA NERA (1977) in scala 1:18 - Prototipo stampato in 3d

Vi mostro un progetto particolare, non creativo, ma di ricostruzione:
il tema è quello di studiare i fotogrammi del film d'azione del 1977 "La Macchina Nera", ricavando le dimensioni della vettura protagonista. Su questa base, imposto il modello matematico tridimensionale in scala 1:18, da tradurre in prototipo mediante stampa 3d.

I'm going to show you a particular project, that's not based on pure creativity, because the aim is to "rebuild" something.
The purpose is to analyse the stills from the 1977 action movie "The Car" and calculating the dimensions of the starring automobile. After that, I make the mathematical 1:18th scale model, to be manufactured by 3D printing.

ALFA ROMEO "IMOLA" - Primi bozzetti

Questi bozzetti mi sono stati ispirati dall'idea di una vettura Alfa Romeo con caratteristiche tecniche principalmente orientate all'impiego su pista:
leggerezza, bilanciamento, massimizzazione del carico aerodinamico (con possibilità di gestire il livello di deportanza), eliminazione di qualsiasi elemento superfluo, senza sacrificare troppo il comfort durante l'impiego sulle strade di tutti i giorni.
Insomma, un modello "purosangue", che esprima il più possibile l'essenza attorno a cui Alfa Romeo ha costruito la propria leggenda.

ALFA ROMEO "IMOLA"- First sketches

These sketches have been inspired by the idea for a Alfa Romeo car with technical specifications mainly conceived around driving on tracks:
lightness, balance, maximum aerodynamic load (with the possibilitity to manage different set-up configurations), no useless equipment, unless the comfort during ordinary driving is radically "sacrificed".
In other word, the pure essence of Alfa Romeo legend expressed through a contemporary car.

Questo post è dedicato ai bozzetti relativi a una versione potenziata della Polaris, con dettagli tecnici pensati per un comportamento dinamico più adatto alla guida su pista.

This post shows the renders about an upgrade of Polaris Concept, with technical specifications engineered for a better handling on racetrack.
